One of the attractions of the upcoming Maker Faire is all the displays of terrifying pyrotechnic art. Like this massive, 20-foot-tall sculpture of a woman made out of 10-inch pipe, scrap metal, and lots and lots of fire.

In this Wired.com video, artists Dan Das Mann and Karen Cusolito demo their 6-ton sculpture, Epiphany at their Oakland, California, industrial-arts space.

Gadget Lab will be at Maker Faire all weekend long, posting news, photos and video from the world’s largest gathering of do-it-yourselfers. If you’ve got news or tips about the Faire, send them to Wired.com reporters Jenna Wortham and Alexis Madrigal. And stay tuned to our Maker Faire category page for the latest!
